Donna Thomas, Cafeteria Manager at Margaret Beeks Elementary School, was named the Montgomery County Public Schools Support Staff Employee of the Year. Thomas has worked for MCPS for 25 years.

Thomas was nominated for her positive attitude and warm, nurturing disposition in the face of managing an elementary school cafeteria. She is described as someone who takes to heart the educational mantra of “students first.” 

“We feel lucky to have Donna at Margaret Beeks,” said Principal, Dr. Beth Poff. “Donna is awesome. She always has a smile on her face and she makes sure our kids have whatever they need for breakfast and lunch.”

Thomas has been a cafeteria manager for 18 years and previously served as an Assistant Cafeteria Manager and a Cafeteria Worker. 

Thomas will serve as the Support Staff Employee of the year for 2023-2024.
