Partnering with MCPS

Montgomery County Public Schools is proud of our long history of successful partnerships with institutes of higher education, and we always welcome the opportunity to discuss new collaborations. Please note that MCPS School Board Policy requires that all competitive grant proposals involving a financial or participatory obligation from us must be approved by the MCPS School Board prior to submission or as soon thereafter as feasible (3-3.11).

To help us meet this requirement, I ask that you notify me of your grant proposal at least one month before the submission deadline (six-to-eight weeks prior is ideal). I will connect you with the relevant administrators to discuss your project, and I will help you obtain letters of support or commitment as collaborations move forward.

When proposing a new project, please provide me with a brief summary of your ideas, including the preliminary details (purpose of the project, targeted schools or grade levels, number of teachers/students impacted, a description of participant involvement and time commitment, whether activities will take place during the school day, project timeline, and submission deadline). This will allow us to navigate the process together more efficiently.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me at any time – I’m happy to help!

Looking forward to working with you,

Jonathan E. Schulz, Ed.D.

*If a partnership moves forward, I will need a copy of the final proposal for our records.
