The recommendations from the evergreen study were presented to the school board on January 14. These are preliminary recommendations. The administration continues to refine the recommendations to make them suitable for MCPS.
The proposed salary scales are in draft form. Additionally, the board must approve the study and allocate appropriate resources before the proposed pay scales could be implemented.
An employee's salary under the new scales will be based on their years of experience, the market value for their position and their current pay with MCPS.
Most employees will receive a pay increase and no employee will see a decrease in pay as a result of the study.
Human Resources is currently working with Evergreen to tentatively place each employee in the appropriate spot on the new pay scales. Final data will be available in the spring.
