Purpose: To help us take a look at the bigger picture in order to understand and identify areas for improvement.

Theme: Culture
Purpose: To encourage multicultural awareness and acceptance within the educational environment

Theme: Strengths-Based Pedagogy
Purpose: To help students build confidence, improve engagement, and increase achievement.

Theme: Social Emotional Learning
Purpose: To ensure that we allow time for students to develop and use social and emotional skills in order to manage everyday challenges.

Theme: Stereotypes
Purpose: To reflect on how we group people based on what we have been told, not necessarily what we know.

Theme: Culturally Mediated Instruction
Purpose: To ensure that instruction incorporates and integrates diverse ways of knowing, understanding, and representing information.
Quote: Culturally Responsive Practice that views the culture, language, experiences, and learning modalities of each student as an asset in the classroom, not a deficit.

Theme: Inclusion
Purpose: To ensure that all students are supported academically and are extended a sense of belonging within the school environment.
Quote: Inclusion is not simply about physical proximity.  It is about intentionally planning for the success of all students.
